MY THOUGHTS
Damascus is mentioned in Scripture as being destroyed in the last days. As we speak, the powers of the world have come to the realization that something very bad is about to happen in Damascus as rebel forces have surrounded the city, and also some have found their way into the city fighting. If Damascus is destroyed then another prophetic piece, as sad and devastating as it will be, moves into place. Also, Russian and Iranian influence in Damascus is great, and both of these nations have been talking very militaristic lately. President Assad of Syria is warning to use weapons of mass destruction, more than likely chemical, if his power is threatened by rebels or other foreign forces. Interestingly, Iran and Syria are both conducting war games right now simultaneously.
Turkey has mobilized its forces in the southern part of the country, opposite of the Syrian border. Turkey is one of the countries in the Gog/Magog invasion of Israel (Ezekiel 38/39). Palestinian Abbas is in Tehran after US Secretary Clinton held a meeting with the Palestinians. I believe this has less to do with peace, but a secret message the United States sent to the Iranian leadership. We will know what was said in the days ahead. I suspect the United States is very concerned a major military escalation involving Syria, Turkey, Russia, Iran, possibly China, some Arab nations, and Israel is imminent. Some of the mentioned above are not a part of the Gog/Magog coalition; however, if and when this escalation takes place God will put the countries in place to fulfill Scripture. Many have said Gog/Magog must happen before a seven year security agreement can be confirmed. Interestingly, the European Neighborhood Policy Instrument (2014-2021) is up for renewal, and we never know if another security/peace agreement may be in the works which would confirm the Oslo treaty or something we have not looked at.
I believe the world is building up to a Middle East war. We, at the website, will report events in light of Scripture, not sensational prophecy news.
