WHAT I KNOW

*There will be a seven year treaty that will enhance the cooperation between Israel and the EU so much that in the midpoint of that seven year treaty the EU will have the international legal authority to persecute the Jews for 1,260 days.

WHAT I DON¡¦T KNOW

*What treaty will that be, and will we as a church understand when it gets here.

MY THOUGHTS

There is a lot of stuff going on these days.  First of all, there is the EU/Israel upgrade in which relations that have been agreed upon this week.  This upgrade has three main points.  First, the EU and Israel will have a fast line between the leader of the EU, future Foreign Minister of the EU, and the Prime Minister of Israel.  Second the economic integration of the economies of Israel and the EU will be integrated even further in the near future.  Third, Israel will have further upgrades to bring the Israeli economy into the European single market.  This may mean the Euro and the Israeli Shekel will be integrated into a common currency.  Interestingly, in 2010 the EU will go cashless through the SEPA program which now might involve Israel.  Could the SEPA program be the catalyst for the Mark of the Beast?

We may have much of the prophetic picture before us.  I suspect this upgrade has a lot to do with the rumors of progress of the Hamas truce, Hezbollah prisoners exchange, and the progress in the Syrian talks.  I look for the Mediterranean Union to build upon this upgrade because the upgrade and the Mediterranean Union finds it strength in the European Neighborhood Policy.  The ENP plays a significant role in all of this.  At the midpoint of the ENP, the cashless SEPA program comes into play in the EU and the EU will review the progress of Israel in the ENP in 2010.  All of this has been orchestrated by one man the church knows little about, but they may see him more in the very near future.  This man is Javier Solana.  Do we have the prophetic picture before us?  Time will tell.

The upgrade includes the following aspects:

*  In the diplomatic sphere there will be an institutionalization of the diplomatic dialogue between the Israeli and EU leadership, by means of regular annual meetings at a senior level. In addition, there will be increased meetings between government ministers, senior officials and parliamentarians from both sides.

*  Israel will join European agencies, programs and working groups. This will mean bringing the Israeli economy and society closer to European norms and standards, and increasing the competitiveness of Israeli companies in the European market, primarily in the field of high-tech, with the signing of an aviation agreement that will lower prices for both sides, and others.

* A joint working group will examine the areas in which Israel is capable of integrating into the European single market. This will lay the groundwork for an additional upgrading of relations in the future.
