MY THOUGHTS

This is my last post on this current run on the Mediterranean Union (MU), unless otherwise needed.  I will post on this from time to time as any subject, but next time I post, I will start a new commentary thread.  I believe it is interesting that the MU is complimentary to the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP).  The ENP and the MU are both incorporated into the European Neighborhood Policy Instrument (ENPI).  The ENPI is the seven year budget that brings money into these policies, which in 2010 will have a review, and the EU is supposed to go cashless at that time also.  We may have a much clearer picture of the prophetic picture.  I am still not 100% convince that all of this is the prophetic timeline given in Daniel and Revelation, but I believe my percentage upped a bit this week.  The one main part of all of this is the rebuilt Temple.  I believe it will be rebuilt, and there is time.  I believe if a peace agreement is hammered out then the Temple could be rebuilt within a part of the agreement, or a war such as Gog/Magog may force the issue.  If this is it, God will allow the Jews to prepare for the Abomination of Desolation in His time.

Among its (MU) stated goals are:

·                                 An ambition to build a common future based on the full respect of democratic principles, human rights and fundamental freedoms

·                                 Determination to eradicate terrorism and to combat its sponsors

·                                 Creation of a free trade area in the Euromed region by 2010 and beyond and the promotion of all-round regional economic integration

·                                 Promoting orderly managed legal migration and fighting illegal migration.

The summit was co-chaired by Mr Sarkozy and Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak. Future summits - to be held twice-yearly - will also be co-chaired, emphasising the partnership of EU members and non-EU Mediterranean countries. The summits will be hosted alternately by EU and non-EU countries.

A joint secretariat will be set up to oversee projects and find partners, and the union's structures should be fully operational by the end of 2008.

Here are some news links coming out of the Mediterranean Union.  Again, I want to reiterate that Sarkozy's idea of the MU is being directed by Javier Solana's European Neighborhood Policy (ENP).  This means that Solana is in the driver's seat.  The partnership pact with Syria is apart of Syria's Action Plan within the ENP.  The ENP could have great prophetic implications for all of us.  You see, the ENP confirmed the Barcelona Process at the end of 2006, and came into effect on January 1^st, 2007.  There are many who think that this was the prophetic confirmed covenant spoken in Daniel 9:27.  So far, the news coming out of the MU supports that notion instead of negating it. 

Where does that bring us?  If the ENP is the prophetic covenant, then you don't need a peace treaty to start things off.  The Bible never said it had to be a peace treaty, just a treaty.  The false peace is a slow dawning of peace that comes upon the Middle East during the first 3 ½ years of the 70^th week of Daniel.  The Great Tribulation and then the Day of the Lord does not come until at the midpoint of the 70^th week, and toward the end of the 70^th week respectively.

If the MU comes out of all of this and comes into its own and confirms the Barcelona Process and the ENP, then we may need to look at a new treaty as a possible treaty of Daniel 9:27.  As of right now, that has not happened, and the ENP is the leading candidate to the prophesied treaty.  If the ENP is that prophesied treaty, then we may only have a couple of years until the Abomination of Desolation (Matthew 24:15).  What an exciting and yet scary time to live in.  Always keep yourself in Christ, and let Him be your rock and salvation.  Jesus is the only way to life and the only way to heaven.  Unfortunately, some like Tony Blair don't get it.  I hope you do.  Jesus is the only way, and if someone follows another way, show them love, but don't get drawn into their own deception.  Be ready, because the Kingdom of Darkness is on the move.

The European Union could sign a long-stalled partnership pact with Syria this year, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said on Sunday at a Paris summit that marked a new detente between Europe and Damascus.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was in the French capital for the launch of a new "Union for the Mediterranean" with over 40 other leaders including Israel's Ehud Olmert -- the first time leaders of the two states will have been in the same room.

That diplomatic breakthrough, and an agreement on Saturday to exchange embassies with Lebanon for the first time, enabled Assad to emerge from isolation in the West three years after the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri, which many believe was orchestrated from Damascus.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says that Israel and the Palestinians have never been closer to a peace deal than now.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, standing with Olmert at the French presidential palace Sunday, added that both sides were "serious and want to achieve peace."

Meanwhile, Olmert also said Sunday that Israel hoped to have direct contacts with Syria soon. The rival neighbors have been holding indirect talks mediated by Turkey.

At the opening of the Union for the Mediterranean conference in Paris, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak called for an all-inclusive peace in the Middle East and asked Israel and the Palestinians to continue their negotiations.

In an interview with Time magazine, Mr Blair said faith could be "a civilising force in globalisation", bringing different peoples together to solve the world's problems.

He argued: "Faith is part of our future, and faith and the values it brings with it are an essential part of making globalisation work." Mr Blair's foundation, which will be officially launched in New York today, will attempt to bring religions together to tackle major global issues such as the UN's eight millennium development goals, which range from eradicating extreme poverty to ensuring environmental sustainability.

"This is how I want to spend the rest of my life," he said.

One of its first priorities will be to fight the spread of malaria.

Mr Blair said: "If you got churches and mosques and those of the Jewish faith working together to provide the bed nets that are necessary to eliminate malaria, what a fantastic thing that would be.

"That would show faith in action, it would show the importance of co-operation between faiths, and it would show what faith can do for progress."
